In March 2006, two award-winning Ukrainian authors Maryna and Serhiy Dyachenko , released a book called
Wild Energy (Dyka enerhiya). The novel's main character, Lana, has to survive in a futuristic city facing an energy crisis, and is based on Ukrainian singer
Ruslana. The winner of the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest, who is now also a member of the Ukrainian parliament for president Yushchenko's Our Ukraine party, is also recording an album of the same title. The
title track of the album has just hit the net and is rather good. It is very Ruslana but also very new; some werskepticalal that the project were greatly differ from Wild Dances. The song has an ethnic sound, but instead of the folk instruments of the Wild Dances album, Wild Energy sounds much more electronic. And there is not a single 'Hey!' in the whole song!
The
video is also floating around and is AMAZING! It apparently has broken records for use of technology in its production, and looks like a scene from a Hollywood movie. Ruslana'appearancece is also very different, as you shall see. The video is a screen version of part of the novel, and forthcoming videos from the album are expected to continue the story.

I love how everything Ruslana does is "Wild". Wild Dances, Wild passion, Wild energy. Here's to Ruslana in 2020 "Wild taking it easy and having a nice sit down".
Wild Countdown.
