Де можна знайти MP3 Ані Лорак???

I know this is blog is called RusskiPop, but occaisionally I will also write about music from other East European countries. Today I am going to talk to you about a Ukrainian songtress of Eurovision fame. But no! it isn't our friend Ruslana. I am talking about Ani Lorak (Ukrainian: Ані Лорак, Russian: Ани Лорак), who should have represented her country at this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv. However, because she supported the pro-Russian cadindate in the recent Orange Revolution, in the final round of the extensive selections, a load of pro-Ukrainian "Orange songs" were added as wild cards, and Greenjolly's Разом нас багато Razom nas bahato "Together we are many" swept to victory.

Ani's song was the rock-pop Another Little Shot, which would have stood a much better chance of winning than Greenjolly's rubbish shouting.

Miss Lorak first appeared as a young girl in 1995 and since then has had a number of succesfull albums. She sings in Russian, Ukrainian, and more recently in English. When she first came out she sang mostly in Russian, but most of her recent singles have been in Ukrainian or English. Unfortunately I am having trouble finding MP3s online, so I can only provide links to her videos.

I've been listening to foreign songs lately and one of my latest find and favorite is "Ti Toljko Ti" by Dima Bilan. Don't understand a word in it but thanks for your informative blog.

I like Ani! Her album is good - it gets a bit ballad-heavy towards the end but even some of them are quite good. The early songs like Anjuta, Mrij pro mene and Moj bagannja are really good. Swayey, bouncey and with accordions!

Also, what does Музыка mean? Someone with my most-Irish-of-surnames did that on her latest album.

Katrina, the ginger brothers are called Brat'ya Grim I think (in Russian: Братья Гримм - maybe just one m at the end). I have posted one of their songs in a previous post. I am not sure about the BMW song, I shall investigate!

Hello! Welcome to RusskiPop - From Russia with Pop, a guide to the mysterious world of Russian popular music. Not unlike the motherland herself, the Russian pop scene is vast, multicultural, and a bit rubbish. Prepare to be bombarded with fake lesbians, questionable singing, and haircuts you thought went out of fashion in 1988. Davay!
