Yes please!

24 year-old Dima Bilan is from Karachayevo-Cherkesiya, an autonomous republic in South-Western Russian, near Chechnya. I am not sure how popular he has been, but recently he had a huge hit with his song Ty dolzhna ryadom byt' (You should be on my side). The English version of the song It's Not That Simple came second in Russia's Eurovision Selections in February. I would... [after shaving off that stupid bit of facial hair].

Russian pop from ta to tu

I think it's best if we first become reaquainted with our favourite Russian act, the faux lesbian duo t.A.T.u.

Since they dissapeared from the music scene in 2003, one of them has had a baby, they dumped their manager, and recently have recorded two two albums (one Russian, one English) and two new videos. The English album, Dangerous and Moving wil be released in Europe on 17th October. Their long-awaited new single will be first released in Japan on 1st September. On 3rd June they performed Obyez'yanka nol' (Monkey zero) one of the tracks from the new Russian album at the MuzTV awards in Moscow.

Hello! Welcome to RusskiPop - From Russia with Pop, a guide to the mysterious world of Russian popular music. Not unlike the motherland herself, the Russian pop scene is vast, multicultural, and a bit rubbish. Prepare to be bombarded with fake lesbians, questionable singing, and haircuts you thought went out of fashion in 1988. Davay!
